GRATITUDE
I want to thank everyone for their interest in my art and my newsletter.
The art I have made that has gone out into the world, into your hands,
has been important to me and to all of us. Remember, there is healing
in it, my gift, which our world deeply needs. Art is powerful.
My work will soon be available at the CURRENT GALLERY on Main Street
in Menomonee Falls.

MESSAGE
OF CHANGE
This is a message about changes, delays, patience,
and progress. In other words, life as it truly is. Firstly, I thought
by this time our house would be sold, that we would have moved to Portland,
OR, and be onto as they say, another level. But that hasn’t happened
yet, except that we are always on another level that we hadn’t planned
on. Things change, and we grow where we are. We simply adjust our goals
while LIFE continues to happen. As my husband says, “Man
makes plans and God laughs.”
APPAREL
AND MELINDA
Here is what is happening to me: On my new web
site I have referred to starting an apparel line using my paintings on
the clothing. Years ago I did have fashion design schooling and I am thrilled
at the idea of putting my paintings onto clothing. But there have been
delays. Meanwhile I have kept on with my life, waiting and watching, and
continuing to paint as usual, plus teaching an art student named Melinda
who has taught me as much as I have taught her. She came to me with illness,
and over the summer I watched her improve while she painted and we talked.
She is a brilliant art historian and writer, plus she loves the same artists
that I do. Our deepest common interest is William Blake, the 18th century
painter/printer/writer, in case any of you want to look him up.
NEW
PAINTINGS
In the meantime I have been doing some beautiful paintings in watercolor,
some of the best work I have ever done. They are visions I’ve had
in my heart all along, not new subject matter, but presented in a new
way. That’s who I am, truly, an artist. What a gift, to know what
you are. To put my hand to painting the intermingling of life in the universe,
dolphins, birds, plants, celestial is where I continue to be. I am not
sure that the new art will all be on my web site by the time you read
this newsletter. But they will be shortly. I intend to put some in this
newsletter.
BOOKS
OF MY ART
As luck will have
it, while waiting for the apparel business to rev up, I have started a
project I have wanted to do for years, putting my various groups of paintings
into book form, the first about my dolphin paintings. It really began
when Melinda noticed the relationships between my recent paintings. She
has been a very able to critic of my work, a first for me. She knows my
paintings as well as I know them. Our thoughts were to combine my images
with her writing.
Now there have been delays
with Melinda that neither of us can help. (Please send good vibes to her.)
I discovered that when we are forced to wait, creative ideas have time
to germinate and to grow. At this point I am writing down my own thoughts
for the book on Dolphins, whose working title is "Dolphin River"
or "An Eden of Dolphins".
ATTENTION
PLEASE —
ANYONE
READING THIS NEWSLETTER, PLEASE SEND ME ANY STORIES OR FEELINGS YOU HAVE
ABOUT DOLPHINS. And sign
your name. The book may become a collection of people’s writings
beyond Melinda’s and mine. You don’t have to be a “writer”,
just a lover of dolphins. Please
Email me at jeaninesemon@aol.com
CLIP
ART
There is an additional project that may be on the
way also -- my own “Clip Art” page on my web site. It would
consist of selling portions of my paintings for business or personal use.
This will relate to the amount of time my great brilliant graphic artist,
Tiffany Navin has to spend on my website.
My activities may sound
a little wild for an older woman whose residence is not secure, but the
ideas are there and want to be developed. If anyone wants to comment or
help with these projects, please Email me at jeaninesemon@aol.com
Much peace throughout
the world.
